Hosting events in Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad’s event scene is shaped by two facts: a dry state, and three of India’s best institutions — NID, CEPT, and IIM-A — inside one city. No bar-led socialising means events here are built on content: workshops, design crits, founder circles, food walks. If your format has substance, this city shows up for it.
Where the scene lives
- SG Highway and Prahladnagar — corporate offices and co-working spaces; the startup and tech meetup belt.
- Navrangpura and University area — student energy from CEPT and Gujarat University; talks, screenings, student-priced workshops.
- Paldi and Ellisbridge — NID gravity; design events, craft workshops, exhibition openings.
- Old City — heritage walks and food trails, strongest in winter mornings; a genuinely differentiated event format here.
What works in Ahmedabad
- Mornings are live. This is an early city — Sunday-morning cycling groups, heritage walks, and breakfast meetups do numbers that surprise hosts from other metros.
- Design has an audience. Typography workshops, portfolio reviews, craft sessions — the NID/CEPT alumni network sustains formats that only Bangalore could match.
- Navratri owns late September–October — nine nights when every venue and every attendee is busy. Plan around it.
- Summer moves indoors — April to June, evening AC venues only.
Workshops are the ticket format
With nightlife off the table, paid learning is the strongest ticketed format — hands-on workshops from ₹300 to ₹1,500 fill consistently. Pricing and selling tickets — flat 5% platform fee on Espeya, 0% on Plus. Teaching remotely too? Run the same session online.
Run it on Espeya
