Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Espeya — creating events, registering for them, subscribing to Espeya Plus, and selling or buying tickets. Please read them before you create an account.

1. Who these terms are between
“Espeya”, “we” and “us” mean the operator of the Espeya platform at espeya.com. “You” means the person using it — as a host (you create and run events), an attendee (you register for someone else’s event), or both. By creating an account or registering for an event you accept these terms. If you are accepting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
Registered entity: Espeya’s registered legal name, jurisdiction of incorporation and registered address will be published here before public launch.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to hold an Espeya account. We do not knowingly create accounts for children, and we do not process children’s personal data — a requirement that follows directly from India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you run an event that minors will attend, you are responsible for any consent, supervision and safeguarding that requires; do not collect data about attendees under 18 through Espeya registration forms.
3. Your account
- Keep your credentials to yourself. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Give us an email address you actually read. It is how we send registration confirmations, tickets, receipts, security notices, and renewal or payment-failure warnings.
- You can delete your account at any time from your profile. Deletion is described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Hosting events
Free events are free to host, with unlimited events, unlimited guests, RSVPs, reminders and QR check-in included. When you publish an event you are the organiser of it. That means:
- The event is yours. You are responsible for actually running it, for its description being accurate, for venue safety and permissions, and for complying with local law — licensing, health and safety, accessibility, and any permits your format needs.
- Your attendee list is yours to steward, not to exploit. Names, email addresses, phone numbers and answers to your registration questions are shared with you so you can run that event. Do not sell them, do not add them to unrelated marketing lists, and do not retain them beyond what the event needs. In data-protection terms you are an independent controller of your attendee list and you carry a controller’s obligations for it.
- Messaging is capped to stop Espeya becoming a spam relay. Invites and newsletters are limited to 500 sends per week on the free plan and 5,000 per week on Espeya Plus. Blasts to guests of an event they already registered for are not capped. Sending unsolicited mail through Espeya is grounds for suspension.
- Cancelling or moving your event is your call, but you must tell your attendees promptly, and if you sold tickets you must honour our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
5. Registering for an event
When you register, your details go to that event’s host. Espeya is not the organiser — we provide the page, the ticket, the reminders and the check-in. Questions about what happens at an event, whether it is suitable for you, or why a host declined your registration go to the host. Some events require host approval, and some run a waitlist; in both cases you will be emailed when your status changes.
You can register for many events without an account. Where you do, we set a short-lived cookie so you can return to your registration, and we email a verification code to confirm the address is yours before a free RSVP or a paid booking completes.
6. Espeya Plus
Espeya Plus is our paid plan. It is sold monthly or annually, priced in USD, INR, EUR or GBP, and available either as an auto-renewing subscription or as a one-time purchase that buys a fixed period of access and does not renew.
- An auto-renewing subscription continues until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access to the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Indian card and UPI renewals are not silent. Under the Reserve Bank of India’s framework, your bank notifies you before each debit and, above the applicable threshold, you must approve it yourself within 72 hours or the charge fails. That is a banking requirement we cannot waive on your behalf. We will email you before and after a failed renewal.
- Prices are exclusive of taxes unless stated. Indian sales carry 18% GST.
- We may change plan pricing or what a plan includes. Existing paid periods are honoured at the price you paid; changes take effect from your next renewal, and we will give you reasonable notice by email.
- Cancellation and refund mechanics are in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
7. Paid tickets and platform fees
Hosts may charge for tickets, and may require a refundable deposit that is returned at check-in. Payments are processed by Razorpay. Espeya acts as merchant of record for ticket sales, collects the payment, and remits the host’s share.
| Host plan | Espeya platform fee on paid tickets |
|---|---|
| Free | Flat 5% of the ticket price |
| Espeya Plus | 0% |
Payment-processing charges levied by Razorpay and applicable taxes are separate from our platform fee. The fee rate is fixed at the moment an order is created, so a plan change part way through a sales window does not retroactively reprice orders already placed.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use Espeya to:
- host or promote anything illegal where it takes place, or anything that facilitates violence, harassment, hate, sexual exploitation, or the sale of restricted goods;
- impersonate a person or organisation, or list an event you have no right or intention to run;
- sell tickets you do not control, resell tickets for profit against a host’s stated terms, or launder payments through ticket sales;
- send unsolicited bulk email, or evade the messaging caps in section 4;
- scrape the platform, probe or interfere with its security, bypass rate limits, or use another person’s ticket token or host management link;
- upload malware, or content you do not have the rights to.
We may remove content, cancel an event, withhold funds pending investigation, or suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms. Where the breach is not serious we will try to warn you first. Where it involves fraud, safety or a legal obligation, we may act immediately.
9. Content and intellectual property
You keep ownership of what you upload — event descriptions, images, cover art, calendar details. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform, including showing your public event on discovery pages, in search results and in emails to people who registered. That licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies we must keep for legal or accounting reasons. Espeya’s own name, logo and software remain ours.
10. Availability
We work hard to keep Espeya up but we do not promise uninterrupted service, and we do not currently offer a contractual uptime guarantee. We may change, suspend or retire features. If we retire something you depend on, we will give notice where we reasonably can.
11. Liability
Espeya provides the platform. We are not the organiser, promoter, or insurer of any event listed on it, and we are not a party to the arrangement between a host and an attendee. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost data, or anything that happens at or because of an event. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100.
Nothing here excludes liability we cannot lawfully exclude — including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Consumer-protection rights you hold under the law of your country, including under India’s Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and equivalent EU and UK consumer law, are unaffected.
12. Indemnity
If you host events or sell tickets through Espeya, you agree to cover us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your event, your content, your handling of attendee data, or your breach of these terms.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top always reflects the current version. For material changes affecting paid plans or your rights we will email account holders in advance and, where required, ask you to accept the new version. Continuing to use Espeya after a change takes effect means you accept it.
14. Governing law and disputes
We would rather fix a problem than argue about it — please write to us first via our Contact Us page, and we will try to resolve it directly.
The governing law and the forum for unresolved disputes are being finalised alongside our entity registration and will be stated here before public launch. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence apply regardless of that choice.
